At the end of March we travel to Budapest to record our 4th album with our friends at the awesome Budapest Symphony Orchestra. ‘UMBRA’ is our most ambitious hybrid orchestral album yet, blending the timeless power of a world-class orchestra, with genre-defining hybrid and synthetic components, awe-inspiring percussion and the latest custom sound-design and trailer production techniques.
For this project we’ve pushed the envelop on our live sessions. Building on the epic dark-brass section featured on our album ‘Dystopia’, we’ve layered extra contra-bass and bass trombones and tubas with a large, traditional orchestral brass section, to deliver that trailer low-brass that samplists can only dream of. 18 awesome players, ready to deliver some lung-busting performances.
For strings, we’ve beefed up a conventional orchestral string section to a massive 40 players, and added an award winning harpist, for dark flageolets and extra depth and texture.
Tracks are in, scoring is underway, and recording begins in late March, with a projected release date (fingers crossed) in late April. Bring the noise!
